WHAT WE DID?

Our adventure of protecting and researching sea turtles, which started in 1987 with one person, continues with an increasingly crowded volunteer army.

Among our activities carried out for this purpose:

  • STEP Project (2002 – 2007): Within the scope of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline company’s environmental investment program, proje Sea Turtles and Spawning Areas ”themed project was realized under the title of Keş Sea Turtles Discovery”.
  • Satellite Monitoring Project (2004-2005):
     The first study in Turkey on the track of sea turtles with satellite tracking devices, by EKAD within the framework of the BTC project.
  • Young Steps for the Living Mediterranean: Within the scope of the project carried out with the British Council, the working teams of the organization including experts in the field came together and participated in the conservation works.

  • Marine Turtle Conservation Project – Volunteer Program: Volunteers coming from abroad through Beyoğlu Rotary Club supported our project team for 5 years.
