Indigo Turtles

Since 2014, Mavi has been contributing to the conservation of endangered sea turtles by supporting the Ecological Research Association (EKAD) through the Indigo Turtles project.

This long-term collaboration aims to protect and ensure the continuity of Caretta caretta and Chelonia mydas species, which have existed for 120 million years and are an integral part of the Mediterranean ecosystem. Sea turtles face serious threats due to climate change, coastal degradation, plastic pollution, artificial lights, and other human-induced dangers. For this reason, EKAD carries out comprehensive efforts that include awareness-raising, scientific research, and direct conservation activities.

With Mavi’s support, the Indigo Turtles project not only contributes to the protection of these valuable species but also plays a significant role in promoting volunteerism and raising awareness about nature conservation. Since 2014, this collaboration has been one of the best examples of a long-term and sustainable approach to sea turtle conservation.
